Rick Rack?

I was recently given a bunch of sewing supplies that were my grandmother's. She was a major pack rat! Anyway- there is a TON of rickrack and I'm trying to think what I can do with it. I can sew, but I have no clue what to put it on.
Ideas?

I'm a rick rack fanatic--here are some uses:

--Trim for aprons, shirts, dresses, pot holders, pillows, pillow cases...anything!
--Use for ornament hangers or anything that needs a loop on it for hanging.
--decorate home made cards, kids crafts. Glue sticks work great for this.
--Tie a piece of an unusual color to your luggage to help ID your bags at the airport (not red--too many people use red).
--Use it instead of ribbon on packages at holiday time.

I've also used really tiny rick rack to put a child's name onto a hand made blanket for a birth gift. I just wrote the name in script and hand sewed the rick rack to cover the writing. It looked great.

I LOVE the daisies! I don't think I'm ambitious enough to make a whole pillow out of them, but I can think of a few projects where they might be nice as embellishment.

As far as using rick rack in sewing, I think you just try not to stretch it as you sew, so it won't curl up and pucker your fabric aferwards. Also, if it's on an item that's going to get washed (and you're using vintage stuff), I'd wash it to shrink it first, and also to make sure the old dyes don't run, so you don't ruin your project.

I love 2-3 rows on the bottom of a little girls dress.
Also I have some patterns that use rick-rack for bird legs and feet. They're cute. You applique the body onto the fabric (sometimes it's a pocket) and add a beak and feet.

that pillow is ambitious :LOL I got the idea from a marth stewart thing. she attatched sew on snaps to the back of hers and used them as embelishments. then snap off when you wash the garment.
