For those who are taking B6 for nausea

My midwife told me that it was a good supplement to take, but to be sure that the total dose does not exceed 150 mg total per day. That included the B6 in the prenatal vitamin, you extra B6 you are taking, and any B6 from other sources such as Emergen-C.

Increased doses above 150mg have been correlated with neural problems in the baby in some instances.

I did not know this before she told me about it and wanted to share.

The B6 that I am taking are making me feel much better. I didn't take it during my previous pregnancies, don't know why...... but I guess I should have

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this. I've been taking a b-complex on top of my prenatal. I'll check right now to see what the #s are. Until now, I'd felt they were safe, as I'd understood that the body flushes out what is not needed.

Just another reminder not to take any herbs or supplements until speaking to a trusted professional.

Susanne, that is exactly what I thought since it is a water soluble vitamin, but I guess B6 levels must have an effect nonetheless.

It seems like a lot changes. This was new info as I understood it.
