Not all moms bottlefeed

So my husband and I went to a Seattle Mariner game on Saturday. We were going through his work so we got to sit on the suite level (NICE!). Anyway from the parking garage there is a skybridge entrance and before you go over the bridge a nice man has to check your bags.

I always love the bag checking part. They always say while opening the diaper bag "so baby's food or formula in here?" of course this happened this time.

MAN: So just baby's food in here right?

ME: Nope it is all up here (patting my chest)

MAN: (sort of looks at me funny then smiles and chuckles) Well that is a first

ME: Oh that's too bad.

of course then he wanted to know why our bag was so heavy so I showed him all the cloth diapers I was packing in

I am just anal and get annoyed that they always assume every baby that comes in that stadium is getting a bottle. Granted some bottles probably have breastmilk in them but if I am right there I am giving it straight from the tap.

He has never looked through a diaer bag of a woman breastfeeding her baby ever before! I find that hard to believe. The guy must live underground :LOL

At a seahawks game I'd understand it (joke!)

Why would they specifically ask if there is baby food or formula in there anyway?

I am not surprised... My dad, even when he knew I was nursing asked where dd's bottle was.
I have also been asked "where's the formula" when checking my bag at an amusement park...I said "nope, no formula." I had a bottle with water in it in the bag. it was miserably hot and I like to offer water when she see's us with water. people are really odd sometimes...I also get comments on the cloth diapers..

That is what I always wonder too. I mean if they are really supposed to be checking the bag they should be checking the bag not just asking what is in it.

the security people always ask if it's all baby stuff or stuff for the baby when we've gone into mariner's game this year. i've never really thought about why. although small talk comes to mind. and then tey don't feel like they have to look as closely.

they probably assume that i have bottles packed inthe diaper bag though as i'm sneaking in a couple of bottles of water for me. i figre it gets to dd evenually. :LOL

i'll let you know about seahawks games. we're going next sunday. yay!

Yes I have been known to put water bottles in my diaper bag and nod yes when they ask if it is for the baby.
