What do hiccups feel like?

Last night I noticed a very rhythmic little thump-thump down about where I think the baby's chest is -- is that was hiccups are like? I could not imagine it being anything else. It was WAY to slow to be either of our heartbeats, and my only other thought was that I am incubating a musical prodigy who has already begun keeping time...

I get the same thing and I'm pretty sure it's hiccups. If DH has his ear on my belly when they happen he can hear them - he thought it was the heartbeat but no, it's too slow and I can feel it! Regardless, it's fun to feel isn't it? I just hope hiccups aren't as annoying for babies in utero as they are for me after I drink a glass of water too quickly.

yep, that's what I feel, too. They don't last too long at one time though, maybe even less than 1 minute.

Yes, it's quite a rhythmic little jumping. My babe has them right now!

yep, thats what it feels like! my baby has them odten as well.. i think its because they drink the amniotic fluid and then hiccup which help their lungs develop..

That exactally the way my first baby would hiccup. She had them a lot, too. So far, I haven't felt any with this pregnancy.

Yep That sounds like hiccups! My baby's just started recently- I love it! I always try to get dh to feel it, and usually he can't- however, when he did feel it, he said it felt like my heartbeat. Except it's in my belly, LOL.

This is too funny!! I just felt my baby hiccup for the first time this morning! It was like little taps that I felt low into my stomach( he is already head down) It lasted for about 3 min and I think he was a little freaked by it b/c he started to kick while doing it. After the little taps happen he took a break from tring to break mommy's rib :-)
