Animal floor pillow

My daughter loves bean bags and floor pillows, and I'd love to make one, but of course where's the room?? So I figured, why not make one that was stuffed with the kids baby clothes (we can't give them away just yet, because you never know...!). I know that would help the clutter around here a lot.

Then I remebered a really neat floor pillow I was infatuated with when I was little. It was a giant turtle shaped floor pillow. I *loved* it, except it wasn't mine. I remember having the most wonderful times sitting on the turtle making belief were we swimming through the oceans etc.. It was FUN!

So I want to make a pillow like this for my children. I tried searching for instructions online, but nothing. I guess my problem is that I want the turtle to look life-like, not with cartoonish features. Where do you suppose I could find instructions like that from? I saw a book once that had some neat instrctions for stuffed animals, but I don't have access to that book anymore. Ideas anyone?

Also, if anyone has a really cool large stuffed animal that is low lying, I wouldn't mind having a look at pictures of it. Thanks.

I'm not sure if this helps or not, but I was looking at a similar sort of thing but it was dolphin (whale? don't remember...). The pattern was in one of the major pattern company books - Butterick, Simplicity, McCalls, etc. My memory of it doesn't strike me as overly cartoonish but I don't know just how realistic you're looking for. Anyhoo, maybe looking at that pattern can give you some construction ideas and you could work on finding a picture you like and then enlarge the picture to the size of the pillow you want and figure out how to cut the enlarged picture into good pattern pieces.
