I was out yetserday with dd shopping, this lady comes up and is admiring dd and asking about her, saying she was big for how old she was, ect, ect and and then she asks are you bfing? now personally i've only had people stare or be rude about it so i was kinda cautious but i said, yep, thats why she's so big...and to my suprise the lady started going on and on about how great of a mom that makes me and how she's so proud of me and on and on...to make a long story short it made my day

That's great! Doesn't it make you feel good to get such nice comments from a perfect stranger? I had a similar experience when I was grocery shopping with ds. This older woman (like in her late 70s) came up to me and said ds was cute. She immediately asked if I was breastfeeding. I said, "Yep!" With a big smile on my face because I'm proud of it. She said, "I could tell you were. That's just wonderful!" I'm not sure how she knew I was breastfeeding, but I thought it was sweet.

Rachel- She could tell because bf'ed babies look soooo much healthier than formula fed babies!! Their color is better, their cheeks are chubbier.

**no offense to mommas that HAVE to formula feed! I know you did your best to bf and thats wonderful! The little bit you were/are able to give balances out the formula, IMO

That's so cool! I'm glad you finally got a positive response. I can't believe how negative some people are about breastfeeding. I've never had a negative reaction from anyone, but I've read such awful stories from other people. I love it when people comment on my breastfeeding and I always try to say something (good, of course!) if I notice someone else who is doing it.

The other day we went out for breakfast and I nursed my daughter at the table and then went into the bathroom to change her. While I was changing her, and older woman from a table near ours walked out of a stall and said that she noticed I was breastfeeding and thought it was wonderful.

I have to admit though, a part of me wishes someone would say something negative to me about breastfeeding in general or just NIP. I'd tell them a thing or two!

I'm always on a search for moms who are bf/nip, but never really see anyone. I have had a good comment from someone and really was so surprised, I thought about hugging her!

You're absolutely right! I didn't really think of it that way. How weird am I to think that maybe she thought my boobs looked like breastfeeding boobs? :LOL

Also, I should have said that ds was in the snugli and I wasn't actually breastfeeding at the time. (It seems like I'm always leaving out important information when I tell stories! :LOL )
