CONGRATULATIONS MICHELLE!!

Riley Jacob was born this morning!!
6 lb 11 oz
18.5 inches long

Michelle said she'd been in labor since Monday, just had him this morning, but didn't get the exact time. She's very tired (she ended up going to the hospital) and the baby is in the nursery with daddy. She said Riley isn't breathing very well so she hasn't seen him much since the delivery.

Get better soon, Riley!!

Hey guys, just checking in while I have a second free of my little nipple clamp :LOL

I will update when I have some time- probably get around to a birth story and some pictures soon. Riley is good, he had some issues with "goop" in his belly and a little in his lungs when he was born. It was pretty hard on me to be away from him in the first hour or so of his life, but it was better knowing he was okay. Chad stayed with him the entire time. It didn't go as planned, I laboured at home all night Monday/Tuesday. We went to the birth center at 6:30 am Tuesday. I had major back labour and not much progression out of the early labour/active labour cusp. Long story short, we ended up in the hospital getting pitocin around 10:30 pm Tuesday night, and had some pain relief. Things progressed quickly from there and I was pushing Riley out by morning. We left the hospital at about 7:00 last night, and nursing is going better with every feed.

It's so surreal to me still. He's crying in the next room, and daddy was nice enough to give me this much time to check in. Talk later!

Congratulations Mama & Riley!!!

I'm glad Riley is doing better & DH was able to spend time... He sounds very supportive.
My DD was taken the day after birth to have breathing monitored. I remember how upsetting that was for me... my DH went with DD too.
