NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO a c/s?

Month early, hospital, mainstream birth. NO really now, come on, not with Brit!

So, wonder what the reason for this sugery will be.

and 3rd time, for good measure-

gee, it's so surprising that the natural birth movement and nfl/ap movements remain such a fringe element. What new mom wouldn't want to join such a warm, supportive, gentle community?

I would hate to judge her reason for a c/s without knowing anything but the media's version of the birth.

I just hope baby and mama are happy, healthy, and enjoying their first full night together.

amazing the stupidity...

Okay here is the facts as I have read them online so far, she had a PLANNED C-section due to a "fear" of natural child birth and to avoid the "nuisence" of having a painful birth. When I read that I was just amazed...angry... I have a daughter...this is supposed to be her role model? Excuse me I do not think so. Not to mention she is still going to have pain whether she likes it or not. I would almost hope that something would go wrong later on as a result of this to teach her a lesson. I also guarantee she isn't even going to make any attempt to breastfeed because that also is inconvenient. Well this confirms for me that all of us here who actually make a general effort to be descent parents are diamonds in the rough, this makes me sad that the united states thinks that they are so superior to others and this is our society?? Some days I'm ashamed to even be an american if this is what it means! : :Puke

From the CNN story:

Quote:
Last month, the singer revealed: "I have a feeling I'm going to have an operation. I don't know why but I hope so.

"My mom said giving birth was the most excruciating thing she's ever gone through in her life. So if a caesarian doesn't happen, I'll be like, 'Epidural, please.' "
She had a C-section scheduled for next Monday.

I'm not against necessary C-sections. I do think it's a shame that
women have them to avoid the "pain" of birth. I think it's a bad trade off.
With the section, you feel no pain during the birth, but have pain afteward. And you've had unecessary surgery. With a natural delivery (or a delivery with an epi) you have pain during the birth, but much less pain later, when you are trying to cope with a newborn baby. I know some people will have differing opinions, ie they had no pain after their section, or had lots of pain after a natural delivery, but I this is generally how I feel.

Anyway, I hope mother and baby are healthy. I wonder if she'll breastfeed at all?

ummmmmm, how britney spears gives birth is what it means to be an american?

and no, britney spears isn't "supposed" to be your child's role model. you are. my daughter doesn't even know who britney spears is.

and did you actually just come to a community of mothers and wish a brand new one a horrible complication? wow. :

and now 4th time in lass than 12 hours, cause it appears necessary-

gee, it's so surprising that the natural birth movement and nfl/ap movements remain such a fringe element. What new mom wouldn't want to join such a warm, supportive, gentle community?

Thanks for your persistence, mamaganoush. Sorry it's so unrewarded....

Really I could care less about Britney Spears. But it's always worthwhile to welcome a new mother and a new baby to the world!

I'm not mad at the mothers who have unnecessary c-sections for "pain" or "convenience" - but at the doctors who allow them to think that it's less painful or more convenient. Informed consent, anyone?

How does that make her a bad role model?

you know what, chopping my foot off during full conscience would be less painful than my unmedicated birth.I'll make VERY informed consent when the time comes.
