recyling to make Momma pads

it occured to me that the "Oh what a joke" cloth diapers I was given at my baby shower (they were intended for use as burp cloths but i thought they were really diapers and WHAT A MESS) that i NEVER USE could be good to make momma pads out of...what do you think? I've never sewn Mama pads before...would I need more absorbancy?

I just cut up old flannel receiving blankets..more for heavy days, less for light. I never even sewed them, just folded them up into rectangles. I don't know about the cloth diapers- are they prefolds? They would probably work- You could at least use them as layers of stuffing if you were sewing the pads.
