Heartbreaking Katrina song

Just heard a beautiful, haunting song on NPR that I wanted to share. Originally written for the tsunami victims, it works well for the Katrina ones too. It's called "Requiem." Very simple, very beautiful. Click where it says "Hear the song" about halfway down the page.

Wow! That is a beautiful song. Haunting is a very good way to describe it.

Thanks -- I'd never heard of this singer before. I really think she's good.

Whoops -- that one went over my head. Sorry.

I heard it on NPR, too. The really neat thing about it is, it's a mother and daughter duet. The composer said that she really liked the combination of her more mature, lower voice with her daughter's light, sweet soprano tones.

I will too! I've only read some of her lyrics on line and she seems very intelligent, for one thing -- doesn't surprise me she hangs out (or has played with) Richard Thompson. Birds of a feather...
