C-section Spears Baby - Page 8

Oksya, welcome to MDC. Here is a link you might find helpful at starting your journey to understanding why a natural childbirth - whenever possible - is preferable to a cesarean section.

I also highly recommend you start reading the book, "The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth", by Henci Goer . In it you will find the latest research on everything about birth, from positions during labor to episiotomies to epidurals and so on. It provides terrific information on pros/cons of everything, and lays out the case for why allowing nature to take its course is almost always better. This is a great first book to read, and of all the books I read preaparing for a natural med-free VBAC this was my favorite (and the only one my husband read).

Good luck in your journey.

Henci Goer is fantastic. It was my bible when I was preparing for my vbac. Except for her views on continuous efm. There are other studies showing that intermittant auscultation is more accurate. My other 'bible' was 'The silent knife'. Really kept me fired up and focused.
