Not true, either.

I have taught and volunteered in many public schools, including 2 American International schools, over the past 8 years and NONE of those schools have ever said the pledge.

So, it must be based on either the school district or each individual school.

I never said the Pledge when I was little. I thought (and still do think) it's silly to say a bunch of words which we didn't even know. Seriously, what five-year-old knows what "liberty and justice for all", "Republic", or "indivisible" means?

Note--please don't call me anti-American or whatever else because I don't believe in the Pledge. I think there are better ways to show patriotism than reciting a chant to a piece of fabric. I've never been one to get all teary-eyed by looking at the flag and amn't about to start now. But I do pretty much like my country.
