At dd's previous school all children were examined for signs of illness when coming in for the day and if they had any they were sent home. I guess public school's don't do this and as a result 2 days into public school dd is sick! (we visited a couple times a few days before and i'm guessing she cought it then) She's been sick like 1, maybe 2 times in the last year and got over it pretty easy. Last night was a nightmare
She had immune deficiency issues when she was younger so I keep an eye on any illness she gets but we've been doing really well the last 2 years and I finally felt it was safe to wean her on her 5th birthday. I had no clue she would be going to public school and now I'm beginning to regret it. I'll see what happens over the next month or 2 but do kids get sick a lot when attending public school?
