Any Enki users want to help me out?

I had planned to use the Enki curriculum for kindy, but was one of the people who never received any materials-or got added to the yahoogroup before everything shut down.
I got her email/letter, and am willing to wait and order when they are ready. Am sending positive energy their way that they are able to do whatever is best for their family.
BUT in the meantime I would love to get some information about craft projects or movement information-neither of the table of contents pdf had been added to the website yet. I got the pdf table of contents for the kindy fairy tales so I can gather those.
I would also just like to hear from others, the biggest thing I'm bummed about is that I didn't get added to the list, just so I could hear what others are doing and how they are implementing things.
Thanks.

I corresponded with the people at Enki a few times. What do you mean that things got "shut down"?

Namaste!

They arent shut down from the correspondence I have had with them. I received an email from them yest telling me which books are available to order. You can go to their site and see. Also credit card orders chould be doable sometime in the next few days.

they overhauled their homeschool curriculums and in the process of having them printed or something, had formatting issues which set them back a great deal. So they need to temporarily stop taking orders for the books which have been effected. You can still get the Teachers Guides through first grade, the Kindy fairy tales and fold tales, and the first grade fairy tales I believe.

Hope this helps. :-)

Kari explained things really well. It has been a technological nightmare at Enki and they have been working night and day to fix everything and got somewhat burned out. They are stepping back and evaluating things according to the Enki blueprint, and will now be working at a normal pace and will put the materials out more slowly.

You will have the option to purchase materials as they become available, or to wait until full packages are completed.

I originally ordered in May, and did receive my HTG through grade 1 and my grade 1 fairy tales 10 days ago.

In the meantime, I highly recommend Donna Simmons' book from Christopherus. I had several of her books already, and when it became clear that I wouldn't be able to get the Enki resources in time to begin this school year I ordered Donna's 1st grade curriculum. I ordered on a Wednesday and had my materials by Friday.

I had posted on this forum about other resources for Waldorf inspired materials and had some great answers if you want to search this forum for it. I too am using Donna's books to supplement, and am getting the HTG from Enki. I have read Donnas Nature Stories to Natural Science and I really enjoyed it. I ordered her first grade syllabus and am waiting for it. I hope it comes today! :-) But probably not till Minday. But here's hoping.

Thanks! It's just good to hear about what's going on. I'm thrilled that people have heard from them lately and that some things are coming on line.

re: what happened-what kimbermama said

I am totally commited to waiting for them and using what I can.
Mostly I'm just disappointed that the things I was looking forward to reading--like movement seem far off. I will order the HTG from them--especially now if they're taking ccs (although I just checked and it doesn't seem to be up as of yet). I've got most of the fairly tales -listed on the Enki table of contents, as we were pretty Waldorf homeschooly before and had Grimms and planned to supplement with a few of the recommended fairy/folk tales from Bob&Nancy-who's site does have great recommendations.

I do have many of the Christopherous books. I like Donna's approach and tone. I've also supplimented some of the Christopherous books with a few from Barbara Dewey.

Mostly it's just that we're planning the fall into the winter holidays, and we don't do Christian holidays--no Michaelmas, Martinmas, Advent, etc. This is why Enki was such a god(dess)send for our particular family.

Thanks again for the responses, it's comforting to know that things are moving in a positive direction.

I understand completely, as we won't be celebrating the holidays you mentioned either. I realize that the fall equinox is quickly upon us (the 22nd) and so far I have no plans. I guess I'll do more research this weekend; I'd love to find a nature story about it without having to write my own.

There was a post about someone else's fall circle on the Waldorf at Home e-list, and I noticed that many of her songs were pulled from Sing a Song of Seasons by Mary Thienes-Schunemann (www.naturallyyoucansing.com). I ordered the book and CD and hope to start putting together our own circle soon.

I find as a human being I am much more in tune with and touched by the winter solstice. I hope to bring it to my children as a nature celebration so they can join with all the people who have before them welcomed the returning light. At least I have some time to prepare for that one!

I personally will be waiting until all the materials in the packages are available, rather than buying it piecemeal (which is easy for me to say as I have the HTG). My hope would be for it all to be ready by January, in which case I would be willing to switch mid-year from Christopherus to Enki. If not, I truly hope it is all ready in time for me to order the grade 2 package by June.

Did anyone on this thread ever end up buying/using Enki? I'm looking at it their materials now and trying to get feedback from those that have used it.

I slowly incorporated the philosophy over the past 8 months, and finally got the rest of the available resources (kindy and grade 1). We are in our 3rd fully Enki week, whatever that really means.

I answered your other thread, but I will repeat it here - I wish I had not hesitated. I finally decided to order a year ago, but it was more than a year before that when people started recommending Enki to me. Instead I did things so piecemeal and now I see that the Enki resources are better suited to my family and far more nourishing.

Thanks again Kimberly. I responded to your other post as well. What you describe is probably how I would have ended up feeling. I was just gonna piecemeal it for K, as you said, and then try and get some Enki stuff later.

hello
i have an enki question....
i just had a pre purchase consult for enki and i think we are going to purchase the kindy package to start using with early childhood. one thing i forgot to check for was if there was a day to day recommendation ie what crafts to do with what story. i think i could probably figure it out but just wondering. also did anyone else use it for early childhood and find yourself incorporating kindy around 4?
also would love to correspond with anyone using it for early childhood now.

thanks!
