my DH ,who btw is the best ever and so supportive and educated on everything for our baby, was talking to some guys he worls with today about our birth plan, vaccines, breastfeeding etc. well all the guys there just about had wives that didnt breastfeed so my DH educated them on why they should be breastfed then one guy spoke up and said that his wife breastfed but hated that the baby wouldnt sleep through the night. SO at night she would leave the baby, go out clubbing, get drunk then come home and breastfeed and the baby would be knocked out till morning. : can you believe that?! andall the guys in his shop laughed and thought it was so funny. ughhhhh....i feel bad for DH having to work with them.ughhh.<#<

It is a disgusting thing to joke about, but console yourself with the fact that even if she was intoxicated, the baby wasn't getting enough alcohol through breastmilk to "knock him out". More likely, she was so knocked out that she didn't hear the baby crying.

Oh, how sad! Honestly, a lot of people become parents who are just not mature enough to handle it (I've known 14 yr old mothers who would never do this to their child, so physical age doesn't have anything to do with it).

I would say that if mom felt she needed to get smashed every night, she probably had a drinking problem, or was covering up ppd or something, instead of laughing, and hoped that would have gotten his attention.

I'm sorry your dh had to endure that, after being such a good guy and trying to spread the news!!!

Some people really ought to think twice before having children. Poor baby.

...or at least think once, which it doesn't sound as though this woman did. I'm really hoping this was a bad joke on her husband's part.

i wish it was a bad joke but sadly thats the mentality of the ppl my DH works with. the new father in the shop does nothing but complain about his baby making noises for attention.ughhh...and they wonder why we dont want to hang out with any of them?! ha,ha.

: I cherish every moment with my children and consider myself blessed to be their mom. I can not imagine knowingly doing them harm or ignoring their needs physical and emotional.
