In reading birth stories of homebirthed/UCed babes it seems that most women's births really get going good in the night. What about yours?

I'll add my first two for comparison...

#1 - Admitted around 1am, born around 4am, hospital birth
#2 - Admitted around 3am, born around 6am, hospital birth
#3 - Woke up around 7am w/ BH-like cntx. Didn't really get active until after 9am, born at 5pm, home waterbirth

How do I edit my poll so people can make multiple choices if need be? Anyone?

My water broke at 2:30 am, contx started about 1/2 hour later. Cole was born at 5:30pm the next afternoon.

What do you mean by "get going?" When the first real contractions started, or when you went into active labor, or hard labor?

DS was induced, so I'm not including that birth in my answer.

With DD, labor started at 9:30 pm, and she was born right before midnight, 2.5 hrs later.

I voted between 6am and noon.

#1 was induced, so no idea there.
#2 labor started overnight, but I hit active labor(3cm, good contx) between 11am and 1pm.
#3 I was in active labor(3cm, good contx) around 6am, had her at 1:09pm.

I woke up at 1:00am in hard labor. Ctx 2-3 min apart. She was born at 11:56am.

i started having contrax in the am on the 25th of december.., but they didnt get really intense till around midnight.. i gave birth the next day dec.26th at 1:41 pm
it was really beautiful standing outside looking at the sun come up while being in labour. i just remember thinking..if the sun can come up everyday, i can give birth!

Was in early labor all day, but didn't realize it until afterward. Water broke around 7 pm, contractions started coming HARD. Baby was born just before 11 pm, the midwives barely made it! This time around, the first little twinge and I'm calling my MW, cause I know it's going to be even faster!

I voted 6pm-midnight for my last birth. Both of my labors started with hard core active labor so they really got going from the moment they began:

1st birth started at: approx. 12:30am (born 10:19am)
2nd birth started at: approx. 9:30pm (born approx. 11:02pm)

With both mine I knew things wouldn't get going until after dark. Everyone attending thouhgt things would go more quickly, but I knew it was too light out. They were born at 10:09 pm and 10:15 pm, 3 years apart!

I voted 6-midnight, but I should have done midnight-6 because it was that way twice. With my first one it was 6-midnight. Next two midnight - 6. I just assume it will be the same this time and the boys will be asleep and everything. haha.

I didn't vote 'cause my answer didn't quite fit. My labor started at midnight exactly, progressed until morning, then died down to a dull roar the next day. It picked up again around 9 or 10 that next night, then progressed until I gave birth the next day at 8pm. So I would be inclined to say it tended to get going at night, but I didn't hit transition until daytime, so I didn't know what to answer.

I couldn't vote because you didn't set it up for multiple choice- besides, I wasn't exactly watching the clock during labor!

First baby was born just after midnight- did labor "really get going" that evening? That afternoon? I guess "afternoon" is the closest to accurate.

Next two babies followed a similar pattern: labor started in the morning, things "got intense" sometime between labor's beginning and giving birth around 5 PM

Mine started at 10am.

1st birth: Woke up with contractions at 3 am. Had DS at 5pm that day.

2nd birth: Active labor started at 12:45am. DD was born at 2:30am.

My labour really got going around midnight, but I didn't have the baby until 11:41am 36 hours later. (I ended up transferring to the hospital.)
