Do you think this would work for a pocket dipe?

I am trying to use up material I already have without having to go out and buy more. (besides the fact that I have no money to buy anything more. lol)

Outer layer of 200wt fleece, inner layer of cotton velour. I will use a modified version of the mamabird pattern. The legs will roll in and elastic will be sewn in a casing. The pocket opening will be in the front with a fleece flap that will close in the pocket so that the insert will stay in and baby's clothes will not touch the diaper and get wet. If my baby ends up being a super soaker, then I can always back my insert with another piece of 200 wt fleece - this would stop wicking and cut down on bulk since the whole diaper would not be 2 layers.

So what do you think? Would this work? Any opinions would be great! Thanks!

It sounds like it will work to me! My onlt concern would be that the 200 wgt would wick, but your plan to add a second layer of fleece to the insert takes care of that.

Good luck and let us know how it comes out.
