Secular, unit studies based curriculum recommendations?

I am wanting to check out some specific curriculums in anticipation of homeschooling ds1 for kindergarten next year. I know that we won't follow any schedule strictly, but I definitely feel the need for some structure and ideas.

I'd like something secular, and heavy on unit based studies, but hopefully balanced with other activities. I don't mind piecing together a curriculum, if there are particular ones you like for language but not math, etc.
