Is this a sign of allergies

My 11 yr old DD is always clearing her throat when she sleeps...Now we do have allergies in our family so it is possible... BUt is that a sign..... It is like what you would do if your throat was itchy....

yes. My ds1 did this and the first thing the ped did was send him to an allergist. But it ended up he had 0 allergies, but had enlarged adenoids. Allergies are more likely.
