Did you have to clean your jacuzzi differently for your homebirth?

I am wondering if I need to do anything especial when it comes to cleaning my jetted tub in my bathroom. I dont want to have the baby in water but want to be able to use it during labor.

What did your midwives say/ what is the wya to go? I usually avoid bleach and for a while now have been cleaning with vinegar and baking soda and I am about to get some bronners.

My DS everyonce in a while gets a few specs of poo in there from when my DH doesnt wipe all the way before bath time But I am talking tiny specs that go straight to the bottom of the tub ... not floaties and the jets we barely every use at all and never when DS is in.

We didnt clean it any special way. I didnt birth in the tub/spa but I did labor in it. If your worried about it have DH scrub it out real good.

I'm a bleach user, and about once a month I fill up the tub with water and bleach and run the jacuzzi jets for about 10 minutes or so. You could do the same with vinegar. When I went into labor, I did the bleach thing then ran fresh water through it.

I had my last 2 in our jacuzzi tub and did no special cleaning. When I am pg I take a lot of baths but cleaning the tub isn't happening so it had probably been weeks since the tub was cleaned. A little dirt never hurt anyone

My jacuzzi tub's instructions said to run the jets periodically with dishwasher deterget in the water (like every three months). I just did that a few weeks before due, and then made sure I ran them with clear water a couple times before I used it. I don't think a couple specs of poo are anything to worry about.

we NEVER use our jets. They scare the heck out of the kids. You've never seen 3 people move so fast the first time I turned them on :LOL !

so I wash the tub weekly with a weak bleach solution. I run the jets every few months to get the dust out of them, I usually have to wash out the tub again afterward.

as the birth gets closer (i'm 6mos) I'll start doing this more often.
