I aspire to be Molly Weasley - anyone else - Page 2

I don't want seven children, but I wouldn't mind a wand to clean up after the dog and hamster ...

I really just want her clock!! Home, work, school, lost, travelling, hospital, mortil peril, prison ... I think it would help to cut down on worrying. Although I might have a heart attack if the hand was pointed to mortil peril or hospital!

Underneath Molly's yelling, her kids seem to know that she loves them and that's what's important and I hope that my son always realises that about me, even when he's in time out.

This thread motivated me to clean house a bit. You can't understand what an achievement that is!

Molly is a force of nature. She might not be an academic, but she homeschooled all her kids until age 11, and she appears to have done an excellent job. She must be excellent with charms and transfigurations to run a house like that. She must be creative and resourceful. And the hp-lexicon points out that Dumbledore treats her as an equal.

I need to get myself a WWMD wristband! Maybe it'll help keep me on track.

When I read the first five books, I was childless, and I found Molly totally overbearing and meddlesome, always messing in Harry's life when she had no business doing so. When the sixth book came out, though, the MDC mom in me completely appreciated and related to her. I adore the coziness of The Burrow, the closeness of the Weasley family, their focus on what is right, and their rejection of materialism and status. I think I need to re-read the first five books so that I can appreciate them from the perspective of a mother.
