Can you layer PUL in the middle...

of microfleece and, say, flannel?
I have the cutest fabric that I'd LOVE to use as an outer... but it's not PUL, just cotton. So can I sew a layer of PUL inside without compromising things like wicking at the legs??

Thanks!

I've made several pocket diapers for my son this way. I just zig zagged the cotton & PUL together, then made the diaper as usual with a microfleece inner. I haven't had any problems with wicking, but I think that has something to do with the pattern I'm using (Very Baby AIO).

HTH!

I haven't tried this yet, but I would make the inner microfleece roll out (by cutting it a little bigger and sewing the elastic on the microfleece layer before turning and topstitching). I would not do any top stitching or casings on the outside of your diaper.

It should not wick if the microfleece is rolling out (I think!). Just don't plan on using them for overnight!!!

I have made some pockets with fleece outer and cotton flannel inners and I have not had any wicking because the outer fleece rolls out. I did not think it would work, but it works like a charm.
