New here -- and unplanned...

Hi ladies,.. I was just reading some of the other threads here and you are all so cute --I'm hoping that your excitement will rub off on me.

I took two preg tests yesterday and they were both positive. I'm a bit in shock (well, not shocked - this has happened before) just kind of numb because we were happy to complete our family with 2 wonderful kids (one of each).

I think it'll take a bit to sink in.

I figure I'm due end of May. That's a nice month.

I'm a bit jealous of all of you who've been TTC. I've always wanted to actually TRY -- you know, plan it out a bit and have to "get to work" and have the excitement of waiting until the end of them month and then maybe trying again the following month. But, all three pregnancies have just "come" to me. It's a bit frustrating to have hormones like mine. I know people on the other side of the fence always feel the grass is greener....

Just wanted to say hello to all of you! I've already recognized some familiar names! (Hi ND!)

congrats mama and
We had a bit of an unplanned suprise too but I have to say I am happier this way (once we got used to it :LOL )than "trying" I found it very disheartening when we kept getting negatives before DS so don't feel too bad,
I hope you can share with DH soon,I was afrid to tell Dh and he wasn't too happy atfirst,money/job worries...the usual but he is happy now
take care,

Congrats! I know how you feel about wanting to try. My 1st was a total surprise -- we were actually on the pill. This time I did get to try for a short time, a month, and although it was interesting, getting the surprise definitely saves a lot of anxiety!

Thanks guys! I guess I just need to stay positive and count my blessings....I just am worried about telling DH right now - he's a pretty understanding guy but this is definately going to be VERY stressful at first.
I'll keep ya'll posted.

welcome and congrats mama!!!!!!!!! And, you are not alone! This is our 3rd baby, and totally NOT planned! And in all honesty, it's still been an adjustment. I'm exstatic about having a 3rd, and yet scared to death!!! :LOL

OMG!!! Im totally there with the shock and disbelief. This was a total shock and I have to say not a good surprise for me in the beginning. Im embarrassed to say that I did consider terminating this pregnancy but of course as the shock wore off and reality set in Im much better and have decided that it must be in Gods plan. Im self employed with a home business and its crucial that I put in as many hrs as possible. My partner has only been back in the picture a short time and is focusing on staying clean so being the breadwinner it sure takes a different perspective. I love my kiddos but was way unsure about an addition. Give it some time(Ive know for 3wks and probably a wk prior in reality) Good luck and keep your chin up!

Mel, this is totally OT but there is no embarassment in examining your options. It is important to do so so that when you move forward it is with the power of your decision behind you. All the more power to you Mama

"not enough baby making sex" - DH. This was a planned pregnancy. It only took one try for us (which in the grand scene of things is a wonderfully lucky thing), but DH and I were a bit disappointed.

Hopefully we can enjoy 2nd trimester sex - because certainly nothing is happening around here at the moment.

MDC is so great!
I love the fact that women (and men in some areas) can get together and support each other and give information and swap ideas and feelings and it just makes me feel warm and fuzzy!!!!

EXACTLY! dh was so looking forward to a few months of trying...and i was expecting it...but we got lucky on the first try...a half-hearted attempt at best
but yeah, i was shocked when the test was + even though i had been sick on and off for 10 days...i *knew* but i didn't believe, and i'm still a little scared, but mostly now i'm just excited

Wow! There must have been something in the air there in August! :LOL We're suprised, too. We want another child, badly, but we'd planned to start in March. Really, I'm thrilled b/c I didn't want my kids to be 3+ years apart, so this is working out really well. I made some major life decisions literally in the last week (about work). When I told close friends they all assumed I was pregnant and I kept insisting I wasn't, that this was coming from the heart, not circumstances. Little did I know! It's been a hoot to go back and tell them, "Guess what...!" It's been really nice to hear from my good friends how this is all coming together pefectly. They're right and I'm glad to be reminded.

But man, do I hear you about the disappointment at missing out on the babymaking sex! We got pg on the first try with dd (I was very Type A about the whole thing--charting, herbs, you name it!) and I was excited about having the kind of intimacy with my dh and knowing we're creating a little person. At least I know which "encounter" made this baby, and it was a lot of fun! Dh has PROMISED lots of pregnancy sex since he barely touched me last time. Ugh. That was a HUGE bummer. He now knows how little he gets when I'm nursing a newborn so I'm sure he'll make sure he takes advantage now!

I'll tell you all the crazy story of the my FIL, the pregnancy test, dd's birthday party, and telling dh we're pregnant another day.
