I always find it amusing the names people have their four legged family members. We currently have two dogs- Rags and Nana Bear, four cats- Sassy, Puck, Emily and Red Kitty. Anyone else want to share?

Currently:

Cat - Arimus
Hamster - Nibbles (got it by trying to bite me the day my husband brought him home for me)

Previously:

Cat - Bob (short for bobcat, cause he looked and acted like one)
Cat - Kiki (was her name when I adopted her)
Bird - Bird (was never very original with bird names)
Bird - Baby (blue parakeet)
Green Anole - Lizzy (for lizard)
Dog - Coco
Dog - Kane (for always raising it, and yes I know it's actually spelled "Cain")
Other various hamsters - George, Pinky, Peaches, Snowy, Peanut, and my husband had one named Boo because of a game hamster named Boo, then there was also Porky

We have Nana (border collie) and Keith (chocolate lab), although we didn't name either of them - we rescued them and just kept the names they came with, since it seemed easier for them to have that bit of familiarity. We also have a cat named Cozy, who I named myself (I had her before Rain was born). Former pets were Pepper (cat), Rowdy (Shepherd mix), Mariah (black lab mix), Spike (blue heeler), Lobo (red heeler), and Scorpio (cat).

We almost got a beautiful German Shepherd who had had extensive training from the shelter once, and we were tossing around names and Rain came up with Mahler... I thought it was a cool name, although I wasn't sure exactly why this dog reminded Rain of a 19th century composer... although I did think she was darn brilliant for making whatever connection she had made. I asked her why the dog made her think of Mahler, and she gave me a quizzical look and said, "No, *Maul*er. Like she could maul people, because she's a police dog." Oh...

We didn't get Mahler, or Mauler, because they said she wasn't good with cats, and we had two...

We have one goldfish named Bruce. He's named after my favortite musician, Bruce Cockburn.

We used to have tropical fish and had a gourami who acted like he owned the aquarium and pushed all the little fish around. We named him Bill, after Bill Gates. We thought getting him a lady friend would improve his disposition so we got another gourami named, of course, Melinda. Then he just chased her around and left the other fish alone. :LOL

I have one kitty named Ut-Ohs. She was ex-DPs brother's cat, so thats where she got the name. I really hate it, but I don't want to offend his brother by changing it (because it was REALLY super nice of him to give me the kitty). Also, shes 2 years old... it might be a little late for a new name, I don't know.

I'm still thinking she needs a NICKNAME though..... haven't come up with one.
