Painting Prefolds--how??

I'm getting some toddler sized prefolds for DD at night and she really loves the dyed prefolds I use for DS...they just don't fit her any more!
So, I was thinking I could paint them. I just don't really have a clue of what to use though...something that would stand up through lots of hot washes.

Do any of you Mamas know of anything that would work for this?

Why not dye the toddler ones too? She could help you pick the colours

I've used Dylon Cold to dye diapers if they're all one colour and they worked very well FWIW.
