Migraines

I am 6 mnths post partum. I got my period back at 3 months (I know lucky me). I am still nursing, all the time. With each period and sometimes in between I will get a terrible migraine that typically knocks me out. I am fortunate enough to have people able to watch my older child, but my youngest still needs mommy. I am currently taking what I consider too many drugs to make it through those days. It is very frustrating and sad. Anyone else going through this, any great ideas? I had no migraines my first 3 months post partum.

i would go see a chiropractor. I used to have terrible debilatating migranes, that would come out of nowhere. Now, I almost never have them, if I feel one start coming, I know its time for another adjustment. Also, if there is a homeopath near you, that would prove valuable. I cant imagine the meds are good for you, or your nursling. Hope you get better soon.

Thanks. I see a chiro every 2-3 weeks. Sometimes it helps other times it does not. I have seen a naturopathic dr. for the last 4yrs and he has referred me to many a specialist. I have tried accupuncture, I get a regular massage etc etc
I am not giving up hope, but I am almost out of ideas

I don’t get migraine, but have you try to keep record of what you eat? Or check environmental causes: Mold growing in your house, new paint or place of living, seasonal allergies? When I get a headache, the first thing I do is to drink a lot of water and do some Yoga—but this is not much of a helpful thing for you, since yours are much severe… Have you considered more serious testing, like CT scan? I hope you will find a treatment that will work for you.
