Probiotics/dairy sensitivity?

I am just in my first week of no-dairy, as we believe my 7 wk old dd has a dairy sensitivity. It was suggested that I try giving her probiotics - which made sense, as I had taken abx for a month during her pregnancy, which I am sure could have messed with her digestive system as well as mine.

However, the two days I gave her the probioitcs were our worst colic days yet - I started to wonder, do probiotic powders normaly contain dairy (are they cultured with dairy?). Are there alternatives that might be better?

Thanks
Jeanette

I am sure other ladies will chime in with more info- I am new to this myself and haven't tried the probiotics yet, but have been reading up on the Healing the Gut tribe- which might be a good place to start- anywho- I know alot of the ladies talked about the die off and how their child acted very hyper with the probiotics because they were killing off the bad stuff. At least that is my limited understanding-. It seems that there is a point where it is too much though if they are started too strong. I am not sure on the dairy aspect, certainly there are dairy free ones. I am interested in this as well. I know it is good if they get a lot of Omega 3's, I have ordered fish oil for lil' man, but don't know about dosage or anything.

Certain brands do contain dairy. Look for one that specifically says dairy-free. nak
