Anyone else- SO EXCITED!!!

I am getting SO antsy!!! I want her to be here NOW!
I can not believe how attatched I am to her already! I am excited for my homebirth to go well- I am excited for my new family member!!!
I am going to work in her room today- even tho she will not stay there It will give me something to do! I can not believe she will be here in less than 2 months!! OMG!!!
I hope ds is ready!

I am getting really excited about the birth, too, and nursing a newborn! Although I can't say I am ready for him/her to be here- I have too much to do- I need more time!!

Babies can be born anytime between 37 - 42 weeks as an average. My Emma was 2 weeks early, and if this baby is early also, then being that I am 35 weeks *does math* .... yes, we are VERY EXCITED!

we are NOT ready -- the nusery is 1/2 done, the house is still not done (we bulit it ourselves), all our stuff is still in storage....

but i am soooooooooooo excited.

I'm totally excited but also just a bit stunned. We have so much to do, and the thought that this babe could be here in 4 weeks is totally overwhelming! But I can't wait to have her/him out and in my arms where we can hang out and bond and just be together.

I've been very hormonal the last few days which is tempering my excitement a bit, I must admit, because I break down in tears for, well, everything!

But if this one is high needs like DS was...oh my! And I am nervous about how Ben will deal with a babe. He demands so much of my attention now. He has no patience. He throws a fit when little things go wrong, so I worry about such an upheavel in his life. I worry about him hitting the baby. I worry about loosing my mind with 2 kids.

But yes, I am excited, too! I want to experience birth this time around. I also know so much more about things like reflux and misuse of antibiotics and such. I hope we dont make a lot of the same mistakes as we did with DS.

You can say that again! I think we will have to have a special thread for those with high needs kids and taking care of a newborn- just to support one another! I feel bad for my dh, he is taking care of ds 100% at night now- so he's exhausted with being up several times a night and then waking at 5 or 6 am and going to work every day. But I'm not getting any sleep, either, even on my own, so really, how it is now is probably how it's going to be when we have the baby! Better we get used to it now, I suppose.

Me too - it's all starting to feel so real now! I finally feel ready; we have all of the "essentials" so if she came this week, I wouldn't feel like flipping out. I'm also starting to feel physically ready - ready to bend over again, ready to be able to have some satisfying physical intimacy, ready to sleep on my tummy!

But mostly, ready to meet MY CHILD! Ready to see my daughter's face, and feel her breath and smell that baby smell, ready to breastfeed and nurture her. I can't wait!!

Erica, me too! I haven't been this way throughout the whole pregnancy but now I'm tearing up at least once a day. I started welling up and getting that choking feeling the other day listening to that song "Send your love" by Sting. And it's not even a sappy song!!

I am so freakin' excited to give bith and to hold my babe soon! I am not in any rush, though as I want her/him to come when ready. And, I still need to order my birthing kit, figure some things out with the MW situation, etc...but the dipes are ready, we have a sling, stoked about breastfeeding and other completely unnecassary "stuff" is ready (like a crib).

I'm only 31 weeks and having a HB so I am okay with the wait. Plus, it's my first so I really have no idea what to expect other than what I have read/seen.

OoooOOoooh me too! I agree so much with much of what you guys have said- I can't WAIT to SEE this baby, is it a boy or a girl?? Who will it look like? Is it as big as it feels?? What sort of personality does this wee little one have, that chose us freaks to be its parents?? I am also ready to feel physically normal again, be able to move & breath & eat & have sex & NOT contract every 2 seconds.

I'm so anxious for labor, not that I'm in a hurry, I'm only 31 weeks, but I wonder & daydream about it every single day... how will it start? Where will I be? How long will it be? Will I panic or stay focused? Will it be a boy or a girl??!!???????????? :LOL

I picture DP & I going through our days, but with a newborn. WOW. I picture us in bed with the baby between us instead of the darn spoiled cat. I could get lost in my head for hours over DP's reactions to his first & ohso very wanted baby. He is as excited as I am which makes my heart melt.

We have all these adorable tiny clothes, and the car seat & the sling & I stare at them & touch them & know that our baby is going to be in them........

Oh yes, I also have been having vivid breastfeeding dreams. I can't believe I get to breastfeed again. It's been so long. I can't even wait. Imagining breastfeeding this baby makes me cry.

Sooo excited here, too. As I get bigger and it all becomes more "real" my husband has been getting really excited, which lets me get excited even more. We spend lots of time cuddling on the couch or in the bed, imagining our new baby and our new and very changed lives.

But I still have a longish to do list and some baby essentials to collect, so I'm patiently excited. For at least another two weeks (I've given myself a 36 week deadline to be finished the essential stuff on the to do list), when I can start to get impatiently excited for this little one to arrive

And my excitement from this weekend- we finally have a shortlist of names that we BOTH are happy and excited about. We'll name the baby after we meet him or her, but now we have some good possibilities.

I can hardly stand it, I'm so excited! The only thing preventing me from wishing for an early delivery is that I hope he's as big as Molly was and just as much hair. I think I'm almost all ready for Liam, just a few things to bring up from the basement. I've done all the purchasing I need, I think. Probably too much.

The only worry I have is how Molly will deal with the whole thing. I'm not nervous about the birth or anything else, just how she will handle me having to be away for a day or two. Her hospital bag is bigger than mine! :LOL

OMG. I took DD to her (2-3yo!!) dance class tonight and one of the daddies had his 8week old with him and it (the sight of them) was KILLING ME! I want to hold this baby boy soooooooooooooo badly.

re: HN baby and another on the way...

my DS was high needs by 4 weeks when he aspirated while nursing due to severe reflux which turned into 15 mos of dietary restrictions, hypoallergenic formulas (sadly his reflux was so bad that nursing didn't help despite every attempt), colic for FIFTEEN months, casein allergy, stool holding, barium swallows, plus he just never ever slept, etc... He even stopped napping by 15 mos then I drove him to sleep for naptime until 18 mos when he did without naps entirely... (we're talking major case of sleep deprivation on my part that sent me to a shrink...)
ALL DS wanted was to be held over our shoulder (pressure on his belly helped the gas).
So when I got pg at 18 mos I thought i would be overwhelmed. When DD was born, even though she had some colic, she nursed like a champ and the transition was really smooth. i like to think that i had an easy time going from 1 to 2 because #1 was SO SO tough. i really appreciated what an easy going baby #2 was in comparison though I had people make comments about her "bad colic" to me. My answer was "... this is nothing... my DS's colic was intense and lasted 15 months!!!" Unfortunately DD didn't become much of a sleeper until she was about 20 months or so (she's now only 2.5 yo) but she seemed like such a breeze in comparison to DS.
So even though baby #2 may be HN i think when your FIRST is HN it makes it so much harder (because it is your first baby) that you just deal with another HN baby like it's second nature.

Well, at least that was our experience...
