I have a 2yr old with life threatening anaphylactic food allergies to wheat, milk, peanuts and eggs. She had biopsies of her esophagus, stomach , si and colon taken on Tues. We are currently considering rejecting medical (conventional) treatment as they want to put in a feeding tube. Does anyone have any advice or have experience with this problem? Food has become our enemy as she is so highly sensitive. She's the light of our lives and I wish I didn't have to be such a control freak about where we go and what we do!

((Poor you and poor little baby!)) I'm not sure if anyone here deals with allergies to this degree, but there are many mamas that can help you here. I've pulled a couple of threads that might have some helpful information for you:
info about the link between vaxing and allergies:
http://216.92.20.151/discussions/sho...food+allergies
(I added this in case vaxing might be a factor-someone mentions a homeopathic detox in this thread.)
info about elimination diets:
http://216.92.20.151/discussions/sho...food+allergies
All the best to you both--I hope, hope, hope you can find an alternative to the conventional approach.

You might think about trying to find an NAET practitioner-- they use acupuncture to do allergy clearing. While I wouldn't go so far as to feed peanuts to see if it worked, I would be much more comfortable letting her move about the world if she had been treated. A feeding tube? Yuck. It seems to me that the problem is less about HOW food gets into her body and more about WHAT food gets into her body.
I will look and see if I can find out how to find an NAET practitioner in your area. I just found mine by luck. She cleared me for ragweed, and my horrible seasonal allergies just went away. Pretty powerful stuff.

to you, must be so difficult for you!We have friends whos now adult son is allergic to corn, they have to go as far as going hunting to get deer for meat because he cant eat beef because they are corn fed. His back is a severe mess and unforunatly cant be adjusted.
I am sure you have looked into everything but have looked into her back being out of ajustment? We know other people whos son developed an allergie to milk products after a year or 2 dealing with it and very test under the sun they went to a chiropracter(sp??), now anytime his back is out he once agin is bothered by milk products.
The thought of using a feeding tube to me is horrifying.
I hope you can get it cured soon,
Erin

My ds had extreme allergies as well. He would react by having seizures. There was a point when there was almost no food he could eat and was having so many seizures we really thought he might die. He lost all motor skills, all development and at 2 1/2 he was like a newborn.
We did NAET It was the miracle that I believe saved his life. It was amazing. We saw immediate results and now he can eat anything, anywhere. It took time, money & faith but in the end he was finally well. It was incredible.
There are many amazing stories in the book, "Say Goodbye to Illness" which was written by the founder of NAET. The book also describes the technique. It is very safe & effective.
We decided to treat our son using other means than the medical route. It was a difficult choice and caused a lot of concern for people, but my heart told me to search elsewhere. If that's your choice too, follow your intuition. There are lots of things that may help. NAET worked for us and it may for you, if not, find what does. Good luck to you!

Thank you all so much for your support! DD was vacinated regularly until her 1st birthday and I have wondered if this could be the source of her problems. I stopped short at authorizing the MMR, not becuz of information, but because of intuition. It turns out that the MMR is given in an egg suspension, so she most certainly would have quit breathing, and who knows what else could have ocurred. Her younger sister has asthma, but no known allergies and recieved far fewer vacinnes than big sis. Our son, due in April will not be vacinated as I now have intuition and information on our side. Thank you all for the support about seeing an alternative practitioner. Her GI specialist actually yelled at me when I mentioned doing that. He said I need to "have faith" in what the docs are doing. Anyway I have written more in the My tribe section if you all want to know what other people suggested . My DD's are waking up, time for some lovin'!
