Behold the power of fleece!

OK, I love fleece. I love how it feels, how it does not fray, how easy it is to cut and sew.

I have made 7 fleece pockets with the DD pattern and last night I finally decided to test one for overnight. Remember, this pocket is made with JoAnn's no pill fleece (Texas pattern of course), microfleece inner (JoAnn's), stuffed with one giant Walmart auto towel ($1.75 each, but soooo worth it). This morning my little guy woke up with the towel soaked, but the outside of his pocket was dry! Plus there was no oder of pee on his body like he has with the FB, but just a nice sweet scent.

Unbelievable! He sleeps on his side, back and front and no wicking. I even used cotton/poly thread. I was using FBs stuffed with 2 cottonbaby inserts for night but it was so bulky. This was so trim and still worked. For 11 hours!

I thought I was going to be a wool girl, but this fleece stuff is so great. And so breathable. I don't know about Windpro, but I can blow right through this JoAnn's fleece, yet it keeps the wetness in. I know I would have compression wicking in car seats and such, but for around the house it is great.

Anyway, sorry this is so long, but I am in love with my fleece pockets! I have even made some with flannel inners (rolled in) and my ds can go hours with one small auto towel and no wicking/wetness. Plus these diapers are so soft and don't leave any red lines on my little guy.

I have to make more because my FBs, Harlezys, GADs, and Roos are just going to sit there unless I am going out in the car. I love my Darling Diapers!

I have the Very Baby pattern sitting here (had it for months really) and need to make some pockets. we jsut got some FB and VB pockets but since I have tons of Malden Mills fleece on hand I think I could whip up some. Can you post a picture when you get a chance?

I discovered the wonders of fleece yesterday with my dd! Only she's not in dipes, we're pl'ing! She had an "accident" yesterday while we were grocery shopping, but didn't leave a puddle on the floor/ Horray for fleece!

I love fleece too! How does Jo-Ann's hold up to laundering? I have some Windpro dipes I made that were SOOO cushy soft when I made them, but after washing and drying they're not as nice.

So far the stuff that says does not pill is staying pretty nice after washing. The walmart no pill got pretty pilly. I bought the Alpine and one of the prints at Joanns and I have washed them a few times and they are staying soft so far. It seems that if they don't pill the first few washes you will be ok.
