Help? Food Allergies or Something Else?

Need help. I'm a WOHM - and just ran home for lunch. My dd (9 months) was covered in "red dots" on ears down neck and all over tummy.

Earlier this week we thought DD was sick - took her to doc to rule out ear infection - and came back no ear infection, prolly just "teething".

Here is the 411:

Monday: Fever, Whiny, didn't want to play, wanted only to be held, no appetite, lots of night waking and major crying

Tues: No fever, but still wanting to be held all day, lots of night waking and crying:

Wed: No fever, played fine, no prob sleeping, 1 bout of crying during the day, NOTE: DH fed DD 2 new foods - Gerber Finger Foods, cherry and veggie - (NOTE: unbenounced to me - not my idea of good options)

Thurs: New food at breakfast - 2 tiny pieces of egg yolk (not white); and crazy red dot-like rash as noted above.

Am I dealing with an illness of somesort? Or Allergic Reaction? Or could teething wreak this much havoc?

HELP?

Sounds like roseola to me. ???

Roseola would be my first guess, red dots plus blotchiness. The fussiness the days prior to the rash are a big indicator of roseola. Food allergy my second, rash and might itch (but how is dd going to tell you that one). I would not even put teething in the equation for a rash reaction.

To follow-up -- Doc said it is a "viral rash" - not chicken pox or roseola. Ughh. Poor little thing -- she has a scratchy throat now too -- and barely sleeping. Just tosses and turn. Wonderin' when the other two will get it?

"roseola" is a generic viral rash. LOL! Hope she's feeling better soon!

When my ds1 had roseola I was told viral rash by a ped who was so focused on how terrible it was that my ds1 was in cloth diapers, like OMG people still use those horrible things how could you -- well, he's got this rash all over his body, I dont' know if it's just heat rash or something else, in CD w/o a cover I know exactly when to change him to keep him dry, cool and comfortable. My dear mother was the informed one and told me what it was exactly (via e-mail in another country)!!!
Doctor's for some reason are reluctant to say roseola (or name anything for that matter) and I wonder if it b/c the nick name for it is infant measles -- which might really freak some parents out.
I almost feel like they think we are too stupid or something to tell us the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth... : Like I'm not able to understand roseola is not German Measles!!! Go figure...
Now you know why a lot of us here just don't go to doctor's, I've learned that generally it's a waste of my time and they don't inform me of anything I didn't already know (generally). But I do thank God for bringing me into see these new peds in a town 55 miles away -- this one ped in the group actually is willing to say my ds2 has Celiac Disease and until she asked me to research it and tell her what I thought, I had given up trying to find out why certain food s have been making my dear little sick from birth. A rare gem in the field of pediatrics these days... She listens, respects my input as a mother, and asked me to research something!!! (but they are not perfect mind you...)
Off on a tangent... Got to go finish picking up the house a bit. We are planning a quiet evening just my dh and I to celebrate 10 yrs of marriage.
