Me too! Twice, in fact. Once at a pumkin festival -- an old man came up to me and said that she was beautiful, and then, "That's the only way to travel, with your own milk bar." My dh, our friends and I just blinked at each other in amazed amusement. Then I fed her at TGI Fridays, right at the table! I figured if anyone thought that was weird, they could set up a place to nurse in privacy. I used a swadle blanket to cover me for my own modesty, but it was pretty obvious what I was doing. A little girl at the next table was fascinated.

A funny hippie mom moment at TGI Fridays -- the hostess asked if I wanted a sling. I said, "No thanks, we have one!" She seemed confused but didn't argue. I was all excited that they offered a sling and not a high chair, which of course would have been dumb. Then I realized she meant a sling for the car seat! :LOL We had brought in both.

ANyway, nursing is better, though I am really looking forward to being able to give her a pacifier. I never ever thought I'd say that, but I never thought I'd have a babe with an oral fixation either... I suspect she is working out some cranial stuff with all the sucking.

Yesterday she was sucking happily away at one boob (we were sidelying), and it hurt a little, but I just figured it was the angle or something. Then when I took her off, I noticed that she had latched onto the areola ABOVE my nipple. Her whole naked front side was dripping with milk, and I had a bruise! Stinker! Now I'm extra careful with sidelying.

Shell Ell, sounds like you have a good system going, even if it's not what you had hoped. Way to go! In fact, it wounds like we are all doing pretty well getting the hang of this......
