cool pg belly pic: you can see fetal foot!

It is so cool--I can hardly believe it's for real. My mw said that on rare occasions she could appriciate a fetal nose through a bad case of diastis recti...do you think a foot could be so detailed?

Interesting pic, even if it's doctored--a cool concept.

I've seen that many times before and no, I don't think it is real at all - just a cool photographic manipulation. If you think about it, between the baby's foot and the mom's skin is the amniotic sac, the uterine wall, abdominal muscles, and at least a tiny bit of subcutaneous fat, then the mother's skin. There is no way that much detail could be seen through so many layers of tissue! Even if you could see the foot poke out between separated abdominal muscles (which I'm doubtful even that is possible), that foot is off to the side, not where a separation would be.

It's fake.

For one, in order for that foot to appear on that side of the uterus, the baby would have to be contorted into a pretty weird position.
Secondly, the sheer amount of fat, skin, uterine tissue, amniotic fluid and muscle between the outside world and your baby would never let something that detailed show through with the minimal pounds of force that baby can provide when floating inside the womb.

Nah, that's only about 3",a newborn could do that no problem. I saw my kids feet like that before, not quite that amount of detail obviously, but you could very clearly see the big parts of the feet. Hands too. I got to "hold" my first's hands in-utero. He'd put a hand up against my side and push out really hard. I'd put my fingerin his hand and he'd squeaze, though obviously he coudln't grasp me. It was really wonderful. Of course inhindsight, that means he was probably posterior
