hi folks,
ds is allergic to tons of stuff. some of it is removed from his diet. it is impossible to remove everything, and the doc said it was ok to have some of the low level allergens still in his diet.
ds has a really really really hard time going to sleep. i feel like he actually doesn't know how to relax. he's not hyper all the time, has great concentration, etc. but sleep time is horrible. i'm wondering if some of his allergies might be hyping him up. the main things he's off of are dairy, soy, mostly gluten (he eats sprouted wheat bread which supposedly doesn't really have gluten -- hard to explain), and strawberries. he also doesn't eat sugar really, although he loves fruit, but we limit it somewhat as it upsets his stomach. normal allergic reactions are related to his digestion. might some of this inability to relax, though, be related to allergies? if so, which ones and what do you recommend?
a secondary question: about a year ago we took ds to a homeopath about the allergies. he said to feed him "warming" foods and to stay away from vitamins. i'm wondering, though, whether he is missing some vitamins that we should supplement with, as i've heard that vitamins can help with some of these kinds of crazy behaviors.
thoughts, supports, suggestions all greatly appreciated!
