Celiac Disease and introducing solids?

I have Celiac disease which I control by a gluten free diet. My ebf dd is 3 months old, and although we won't be introducing solids for at least 3 months, I don't know where to start.

We chose a pediatrician that has special interest in celiac, but to me he isn't so gung-ho on Breast feeding, and I am a huge BF supporter.

He want's to start solids between 4-6 months... I don't agree.

Any suggestions? Should I find a ped that is more bf friendly?

You don't have to do exactly what he recommends. It is common knowledge that breastfeedign for that first year is the MINIMUM recommended as primary food source for babies.

When your baby shows signs of being ready to eat (and don't worry, you will see them!) then you introduce solids.

For my first, that wasn't until about 12-14 months old because of her many food intollerances and gag reflux.

For my second child, it was around 6 months.

It is different for every baby.

Are you going to keep your child off gluten when the time comes? To be safe?
I think it would be a good idea if you already have a dx of Celiacs for yourself.
What does the ped say about that?
