Holiday Feasts

What is everyone making for the holidays? We're having a huge prime rib roast tomorrow, with Yorkshire pudding, spinach sauteed with roasted garlic and pine nuts, and squash. I've still not decided what's for dessert, but it will almost certainly involve bittersweet chocolate. And dh will be cold-smoking some fresh salmon in our smoker.

Mmmm - holiday cooking!

Roast turkey (organic), stuffing, roast potatoes, carrots, brussels sprouts, maybe mashed potato, gravy, cranberry sauce. Most of the kids will pick and not eat anyway! Dessert will be trifle and christmas pudding.

Stuffed shells! We stuff them w/ricotta and parmesan cheese (not that vomity-smelling stuff from the can, but fresh parmesan!) and smother them in marinara sauce, so they are vegetarian, which we hardly noticed when we started this tradition 5 years ago--they're so good!!! Now that we barely eat meat anymore, it's good not to feel we're missing something on Christmas. It's a nice red-white-and-green (salad) feast!

We also have a traditional Christmas breakfast of lox and bagels to celebrate our Jewish heritage! (Neither of us is Jewish by practice, but it's 100% of his ancestry and 25% of mine.)
