As suggested by another mdc momma Iwas wondering if anyone had some healthy wieght gainer snacks for my 16 month old..
She has sensitivities and allergies to these foods:
all milk and dairy, wheat and gluten, eggs, certain beans, and food coloring.
FYI she doesn't like meat!
Please help me figure out what she can eat besides fruits and veggie! :

Hi, My daughter has many of the same allergies as yours, although I'm lucky that she likes meat and has never had trouble gaining weight.

My first suggestion was going to be hummus and rice-based crackers since it's good protien and my daughter would eat it all day if I let her. But I see your DD is allergic to some beans, so I don't know if that would work for you. We make our own hummus to avoid the tahini (sesame seeds) in commercially prepared stuff. We don't have any nut/seed allergies known yet, but our allergist told us to avoid all nuts and seeds till she's 4 as a preventative measure. If your DD is allergic to garbanzos, perhaps you could make a similar dip using another bean she's not allergic to.

Guacamole is another good high-calorie good-fat dip you can make at home. Actually, with either guac or hummus, you can mix in extra oils like flax or other high-quality fats - olive oil would be fine. That'd give you extra calories.

Smoothies are an ever-popular disguise for good nutrition. I use a frozen banana, some rice milk, ground flax seed, frozen blueberries or strawberries and some molasses for the iron and calcium. But you can sneak all kids of stuff into a smoothie if need be - it's where I hide DD's probiotic supplement, you could add avocado for the calories/fat.

DD loves rice cakes, Puffins cereal (which are corn-based), Veggie Booty snacks - in the health food chips aisle. Raisins are a treat around here - not something she gets every day. We snack on fresh fruit a lot too...but I know that's not terribly high-calorie. Still, every additional bite you're getting into her is something, I suppose.

ooh! I see that Soy is not a problem on your list. That opens up a whole bunch of options - but I wouldn't recommend going overboard on soy usage as it is a common cross-allergy with dairy. You could try veggie burgers cut up - just make sure to find a wheat-free brand. My DD used to like tofu cubes before we discovered her allergy - just cut-up pieces straight from the box. You could also sneak tofu or soy protien powder into a smoothy.

I'm sure there are tons of other great ideas out there. I just want you to know that you're not alone!

Thanks fo rthe ideas we tried out the gaucamole with rice crackers and it was a hit We are already seasoned fans of the smoothie...which is hit or miss like every toddler. Why does she have to love only fresh fruits and veggies ? For the first time in my life I wish she would just dive into a hamburger!!!!!!!

Tapioca pudding made with coconut milk. Full of fat and you can use egg replacer for the egg in the recipe. I use the recipe from the Minute Tapioca box.

avocado chocolate pudding: mix avocado with cocoa and honey until creamy

Edy's does have a popsicle that has no corn or food colors. We get the strawberry ones. They are colored with beet juice.
