Pest Spraying

Anyway know of any natural ways to keep bugs and pests away? We live in an apartment and the rest of the apartment is being spraying for bugs...we haven't had a problem with any in our apartment, but since we aren't getting it sprayed I am worried that they will all end up in our place! I don't want the yucky pesticides used around my baby and dog.....what are good alternatives to use?

there is a bug spray sold I think at http://www.eco-pestcontrol.com/ that is OK, don't use boric acid with children in the house, it's pest control applications are dangerous for curious children and pets. there is also http://www.safeinsecticide.com/organicroach-killer.html but i've never talked to anyone who used it. I use something I buy at the dollar tree, natural and works but I haven't had bugs in so long I can remember the name, just where it comes from.
