Want to thank you guys...

I just wanted to say that I have been lurking here forever and I finally wanted to thank you all so much for the help. Nights when I was worried that not vaxing my son was wrong I would just click on here and reassure myself. Finley is 15 months old and is super healthy (knock on wood of course) and I constantly am amazed that people do not question these vaccines more.

I researched tonnes before he was born, when my midwife suggested that I not vaccinate. I was floored - not vaccinate? I had never heard of this. Then my friend started telling me to research more because her son had a hard time of it (mood swings, ear infections etc). So I did, and then my husband jumped on the bandwagon once he saw the crazy pamphlets the doctor gave us. Babies covered in chicken pox crying hysterically with the words "you think Chicken pox doesn't hurt...think again" he was livid that they would try and pull this propaganda - so he started learning with me. He is more mathematical than I and ended up calculating odd of disease vs adverse events and said no way. Our doctor (not a Ped) was fine with it and when I told her that I knew that the measles vaccine was required in Manitoba for school entry she told me "no it isn't - it's against the constitution to force anyone in Canada to vaccinate". Ever since she has been great. I thought he had measles once and phoned her in a panic and she told me it was only roseola and not to worry.

Since I have become educated in this area, my sister-in -law had twins and chose not to vaccinate them (we are a team her and I) and my cousin had a little girl and will not vaccinate either. She is nervous but learning every day.

Anyways, I will try and keep up but I work from home and look after my little one and it is hard to always post. Just wanted to give kuddos where it was due.

Terri,

Thank you for sharing.

I'm so glad you are with us. It has helped me to be around supportive people. I had done some research prior to finding this board and decided on no vaxes but this board has helped me find my wits about me with all the information they had and their wonderful support.
