My fully vaxed dh....LOL......shows how much those things work. He's been sick for a couple of weeks and now he is hacking and coughing and says that it hurts to breath when he coughs. He doesnt turn blue or anything or cough all night though......could it still be it? He has alot of phlegm too.

DS or I have not gotten sick (and been sleeping in the bed with dh for weeks) but we had out of town relatives visit (fully vaxed) and they all got sick too. I've been giving him high doses of Vit C powder and I think it's helping.

I wonder how many of us have actually been vaxed AND had whooping cough. I specifically remember having a cough that lasted for a month or so..and the cold was very violent back when I was a kid. I never thought of it being misdiagnosed just because I was vaxed. I know even with my daughter's seizure, they did not want to report it as a drug reaction even though the drug packet insert indicated as such, I had to.

I had whooping cough this winter. It wasn't fun and dragged on for weeks and weeks. But it was never debilitating- I coughed all the time, had trouble catching my breath, threw up :Puke occasionally from a really hard round of hacking, and went on with my day. I had the whoop sound and everything. It was going around my college- not that it was ever called whooping cough since of course those childhood vaccines work :LOL and there is no way anyone could catch it!

You could take him along to get the Pertussis PCR test ... so long as that won't put him and your family on the radar! Trouble is, it would also add grist to the wheels that say we need to be vaccinated every five years from birth to death, on order to stop whooping cough spreading.

This site seems informative and will let you listen to many samples of whooping cough. Even an adult male sample

If your DH kept up with his boosters, he would not have whooping cough (tongue in cheek) :
