are there beans that are less allergic?

Hi, I am doing an elimination diet to try to isolate what foods might be causing my 5-week old's tummy pains. I am a vegetarian and because I am avoiding dairy, nuts, and soy I am eating very little protein. I would like to add beans. Are there some types of beans that are less likely to be allergic? I have heard lentils might be okay, and that chickpeas are not good. What has been your experience with beans?

Thanks!

I know kidney beans are bad. At least, of all the bean allergies in my family, theyre the most common other than soy and peanuts. I cant eat kidney beans, but I can eat clack beans. Sorry I cant help you more. Its very hard to eat vegan when you cant have legumes. My sister started eating meat again when she had a ds w/ severe multiple food allergies and while I wasn't vegan (we go vegan b/c of dairy adn egg allergies--I have both myself) completely, I also started eating more meat b/c of my ds1s.

I lived on lentils and rice. Are you eating leafy green veggies? It took me a long time to figure out that my dd was gassy due to the spinach and wheat of all things. I totally understand how hard it is to get protein in a vegetarian diet without milk, soy and nuts. I ended up using gripe water (colic ease) to help with her tummy aches.

Thank you for your replies. I think lentils will be the first thing I add back after my two weeks are up. I'm really craving some dal.

Wendy, I have been eating salads with a little spinach. Was it just spinach that bothered you or was it all leaf vegetables? I'm not sure I'm up to giving up salad too!

The nutritionist I just talked to said pretty much all beans are equal. I've been eating a lot of beans lately. She did say to make sure you varied your bean intake.
