Is this baby allergic to my diet?

I have been having allergy-type fits of sneezing-no sign of an irritant since I got pregnant. Also,I've had diarreah and constipation or just diarreah.Neither of these are normal for me!Both since conception.Dh was allergic to wheat, dairy, his own pee, soap, everything when he was born.I'm starting to wonder if this is a very sensetive baby?If so, how do I know? Process of elimination?and if so,how do I eliminate all this from my diet and keep up with a healthy pregnancy?(also tandem nursing on top of all this)

My only reasons for considering this is -Dh's history,I feel like I have hayfever, but I don't,I did have no milk for a week, and didn't sneeze.

OR this could all be in my head!!!

ARG!Can anyone help me out here?

Couldn't this just be the symptoms you are experiencing from the pregnancy? That seems more likely than the BABY being allergic to things. They are YOUR symptoms, after all, not the baby's. One possible sign that your baby is sensitive to something would be lots of hiccups that stop when you cut out something (like dairy). But hiccups don't necessarily mean that either. Other than this, I don't think it's possible to tell is a baby is sensitive to something while still in the womb. Maybe someone knows something different?

signs of an allergic baby would be an excessive amount of hiccups and a whole lot of movement, especially after the ingestion of certain things. Those are the only things I have heard of, from the book Is This Your Child by Dorris Rap- a pediatric allergist.

I know women who have developed serious allergies during or immediately following a pregnancy. I think pregnancy can have such an impact on our bodies that our systemic reactions can change completely.

Since you've been having problems with digestive issues, it seems that would be the best place to start addressing the cause of the allergy problems. The immune system is centered in the gut...probiotics, or good bacteria, produce the immunoglobulins that protect us. And also help digest food, so without strong intestinal flora, food allergies can appear simply b/c the food is not getting broken down properly.

If you noticed wheat and dairy allergies in your BF babe, the cause (edit: could likely be based on IBCLC findings) leaky gut in you. Whole food proteins pass undigested into your bloodstream and therefore into your milk. They are not supposed to be there to cause reactions to breastmilk. And not only are most newborns not ready for them but especially a sensitive child with a compromised gut. If your intestinal flora was imbalanced (more bad than good) you pass that on to your babe... and end up with a very sensitive child like I did.
