What is in duck sauce and why does it make him crazy?

I'm sure, if I'm guessing correctly: corn syrup, soy, Red40

I tried to google it but couldn't find it.

ETA: oh, and what about those "chips" that they put on the table with the duck sauce at Chinese Restaurants? I'm guessing they have wheat... is that right? If so, we have to scratch another fun lunch outing off of our list...

Duck sauce: Corn syrup, water, white distilled vinegar, sugar, apricots, propylene glycol, salt, onions, wheat, xanthan gum, soybeans, garlic, sodium benzoate & sodium metabisulfate(preservatives), citric acid, ginger, calcium disodium edta(retains product freshness).

Shrimp chips: Tapioca starch, fresh shrimp meat, salt, FD&C Yellow No. 5 (tartrazine) and other U.S. certified food colors.

Those chips are gluten. they are basically the egg roll wrappers sliced and fried. I waited tables at the local chinese place through highschool. I nearly bugged out when I saw the BARREL!!! of msg. No kidding. It was a BIG HUGE cardboard drum of msg.

The corn syrup and red dye would have sent my kids to the looney bin for sure.
