Well I finally convinced hubby of consolidating EVERYTHING.
Yep everything - car, car repair bill, our wedding gift his mother gave us (turned into a loan a few months later - love my inlaws
credit cards (down to one small 2k limit one with a letter stating not to raise it EVER one of my student loans....
Finally breathing room.

If only the bank is going to say yes.
If not there are other banks

It will be so nice to really not have so many places to deal with stuff.

*side frugal tip - call your banking products and ask how much your insurance is - I did and saved almost 80 dollars a month on overdraft insurance, balance insurance on credit cards, loans etc. what a waste!

Wheh and if we get this there will be no pressure to go back to work as we'll take our monthly debt servicing payments to a third or less what they are now.

Good for you! I hope it all works out!! We just did a similar thing by refinancing and will be one step closer to getting out of debt since we are paying off a lot of bills and lowering our payments. Feels good, doesn't it??

Not counting chickens until final word Tuesday!
But good news MIL cancelled our wedding gift turned loan!
whoo!

So there's a few more k to my student loan!
(*which could go bye bye January 1st!)

It will be sweet if we get it then come January (except any taxes owed)
we will have one smaller payment and that's it!

Sigh so this mama can stay home!
Sigh.

love it if this plan comes together!

Just an update.
so we got rejected for personal loan #3, #4...
but something didn't seem right, hubby went to other banks they said same thing - you suck, you are irresponsible if your bank thinks that we won't give you loan...

so I nagged him and nagged him as it didn't seem right that after paying off our stuff faithfully, making 'okay' income this jerkoff offerred us 12.5% (2.5% above what we were paying to just stretch payments on existing loan and wanted a cosigner....) so I figured he didn't do it as a consolidation or revising existing loan but a new loan entirely.... lies all lies.

so dh went in after me naggin him....
and turns out jerkoff didn't process our loan but credited himself a sale for it gaining commissions and did no work...just gave us the answer we expected - No.

so dh went in last evening, and today we have a brand new consolidation loan for 8%!!! and the bank guy was very upset and said we are paying fees on things we don't have to!!! finally customer service.

So we'll take our credit cards and car loan, etc to 500 bucks from over 1500! (over 5 years) and save like 12% on them credit cards so at the end of the month we'll have one credit card with a low limit (smaller than one paycheque I am thinking half of one cheque) and just my student loan!! wooooo

so we're going to (not really save but) 1000 a month which makes it easier for this mama to stay home! and no more ability to run up debt! dh is credit card king..... minimum payment man...

now to cut the rest of the fat in our lives! maybe start saving for that house... maybe part of me wants to pay off all the debt before buying a house but having our total debt load to carry under 750 a month makes it 'easier'.... part of me is thinking to make a min downpayment and take whatever is left after tax returns etc and pay off rest of debt....we'll see!

breathing easier.
this is my last hopefully last consolidation loan!
I say hopefully as well if I can get my student loan down I might see about combining the personal and that later.... so definetly second last.
no more banking products for this chick except that mortgage.

usury is a sin!
and its mine...
