lexapro and trazodone

I have now been using lexapro for 13 days now. Still feeling side effects. But I am wondering if this is due to the trazodone I am taking at night for sleep since I have had terrible insomnia since starting lexapro. I only take 1/2 the trazadone, but I find I can't sleep without it because of anxiety.
Did anyone else here have lexapro side effects after 13 days? I am just really wondering if this is the medication for me. It does help, I can tell that, my daytime anxiety is pretty good so far, and I am able to do more things. BUT...I feel I would be able to do more things if I didn't feel like lead or that the world was spinning all the time. I am only taking 5 mg of lexapro too...my pysch do said I need to wait to increase until some of the side effects go away?

Sometimes side effects go away over time. That said, be warned that trazadone can cause memory loss. It's no fun!

I once took trazadone, and it was *waaaay* too much for me. It was like trying to wake up with bricks on my chest. I wanted to get out of bed, but I just *couldn't*. I could hear the kids, but it was like a million layers of gauze-y bricks were on top of me. I ended up giving the bottle to my Dr at the next follow up. That stuff is potent.

I would try thre lexapro alone for awhile. Trazadone can be taken as needed. See if you need it.

I took Lexapro 2-3 months after my DD was born. I didnt have any side effects.
I would ask your doc. Good luck!
