Does anyone have a ghost in residence?

interesting post...

I do believe in ghosts but we do not have one in our residence. When my dd was born, I KNOW we had some heavenly visitors the first few weeks. I felt my grandma (who dd is named after) had come to visit. Can't explain how I know or feel this way but I do. Also music was turning on in the middle of the night, our video camera turned itself on right in front of us, and electrical toys were also being turned on in the middle of the night. As for all the electrical happenings, I do not think that this was my grandma, but a dear friend that passed away and that would have loved to have known my dd...just a feeling I have...Never have seen a ghost but these presences have been felt and acknowledged.

We did in our previous house....we moved away @ 3 years ago & left ghost behind which was a good thing as she did not like our prescence there. I think she felt we were disturbing HER space...I think she may not have known she had died. (She had lived in the house unmarried w/ no children for 100 years. She passed & we bought the house & soon found out that she was there though we resisted beliving it until almost a year & half later when we sold it.)

Why are you asking? Do you feel like you have one in residence?

Oh, we for sure have one here. She was a lovely person in life according to her good friend who is now my good friend. She is not threatening now. She pops open doors, and flings the occasional item to the floor. She also makes audible footsteps and opens doors. Boo.

You all are making me so scared!!! I don't generally believe in ghosts, but as long as someone brought this up, i might as well unload it all here!!
I lived with my ex for about 7 months in a really old condo that i just know has something creepy going on. For example, his daughter was not able to draw yet--at all! But only in her room, the walls became COVERED, even up high with drawn pictures of people and faces!! And doors were opening and closing.
Do you gals think that ghosts would ever hurt anyone?

Happymommy: I don't know about physically hurting anyone; it would have to be a pretty strong spirit to do so. Ours (and yes, I believe. Even my dh, who is the worlds biggest skeptic is quite sure we have a ghost) seems content to just hang out in the house, causing the occasional disturbance. I've never felt creeped out by her. The drawing on the walls you witnessed is interesting; tell me more about it. Did it disappear after time? Was it permanent? Very intriguing stuff!

Wow! I am also interested in hearing more, happymommy.

We have had several experiences -- none bad. When I first moved to this house, my sister moved in with me because she was going through depression at the time. I think that is significant because of the type of energy she created then. She is a *very* strong personality, and feels things very deeply.

Anyway, about a month after she moved in, weird things started to happen, the most notable of which was the behavior of our one dog, Tex. He started getting under the bed, and staying there all day, *every* day. He could not even be coaxed out with beef jerky!! Then, our other dog, Ginger, started barking at the air all the time (and she is not a barker). I think she has barked about twice since then (2 years ago).

We would find lights turned on, and we are always careful about that (energy savers!).

So, I decided to speak with my friend, Leta, who is an animal communicator. She has helped us with behavioral problems, transitions, that sort of thing.

Anyway, Leta told us that an energy "vortex" had been created in my bedroom, and it was like a doorway that was letting anyone and everyone come in our house, just whenever!

There was nothing that she could do, but she referred me to a friend of hers in Massachusetts (we live in TX) who could help. So, I called him up, and he asked me to send him a diagram of the house, which I did. After that, he *mentally* went through the house, asking the energies to leave and go to some other (next) place. Well, they wouldn't go!

So, that friend had to enlist the help of another, more experienced lady. She took care of everything, and the atmosphere in our house changed immediately! I should mention that although a lot of people got involved, no one charge any money!

After that lady did her thing, Tex came out from under the bed, and he ate plenty of beef jerky.

THE END!

Very cool story! I would love to find someone to ask our non-bodied inhabitant if she would like help with whatever her unfinished business is here. . . not me, because I take on way too much of everyone's psychic field as it is. How do I find such a person?

wow neat story!

Well, the drawings were like kids drawings, even though, like i said, my ex's daughter was not old enough, nor capable of drawing this sort of thing. They were even too high on the walls for her to get to. They were stick people with heads and faces, all over every wall in her room. they were different sizes. It was in crayon. Her crayons were always all over the plqce, but trust me, it was not her or any of her little friends. They didn't ever fade or disappear and we never did repaint, but the other weird thing was that i tried EVERY type of cleaner out there and i could not get them off!! And crayon CAN come off of walls! Oh, also in her room, there was a panel in the ceiling --i would assume it went to an attic or something--and it was ALWAYS propped up, somewhat open! I never saw it open, but i did hear it i sometimes at night. And my ex's dd, would sometimes wake up at night and i would go see what was wrong and she would be so scared, she would jump out of her crib into my arms!! She would point and point at that ceiling panel!! She had a word for it but i can't remember what it was now! Anyways, i know there is more, i just can't remember it all at once, i don't know why, but trust me, i am NOT making this up!! If anyone will believe me and listen to me, i know you ladies will!! Oh, BTW, I think the condo was built in the 70's maybe??

Oooh. That is so creepy about the little girl!

For the life of me, I can't remember the guy's name in Massachusetts. I will email my friend. I am sure she knows, and then I'll PM you calgal007.

I thought of another story that a good friend told me about. Here in Dallas, there was a young couple. The woman had inherited the house they lived in from her parents. Her father had actually murdered her mother, and then killed himself. Really tragic. It happened when the lady was in her teens.

She and her husband moved into the house several years later and *they* never noticed anything funny at all. However, after living there two years, they had a daughter. When she was old enough to talk, she told her parents that she often saw blood all over her bedroom walls, and she asked her parents who the "nice man in [her] room" was. It is important to note that the daughter didn't know *anything* about what had gone on in the house years before.

Isn't that weird? Anyhow, shortly after the girl told her parents this, they sold the house.

In Texas, the law says that you must, as the seller, disclose if there had ever been a violent crime in the home like that one.

Actually, in California it is a disclosure issue for realtors if a person has died in the home. That is the case with our house, so we knew it going into the purchase. Happymommy, ooooh, I am definately creeped out. Something funky was going on in that poor little girl's room.
On another note, we used to live in a different house in a rural area. One morning, ds was sitting at the kitchen table, looking out the sliding glass door at the hill behind the house. "There's an angel in the yard," says he, clearly looking and focusing on something. I looked. "Where?" says I, not seeing anything. "She's right THERE," he answered, pointing. "She's yellow." Okay, ds was definitely seeing something that I couldn't. He was very matter-of-fact about it, then he just picked up his spoon and ate his cereal and went back to looking at the picture book he had on the table. Geez, what was THAT all about?

In Michigan there is NO DISCLOSURE LAW regarding violent crimes, deaths and hauntings. I am a realtor and we have talked about this in my office many times. I have showed a few homes over the past five years that once you walked in, usually vacant, you can not wait to run right out. Creepy homes with terrible vibes. I have NEVER seen anything, but my goodness, you can certainly feel the weirdness around you...I even had a client bring a psychic to the home she was going to buy before we did the paperwork. She just wanted to make sure the house was fine and that it had good vibes and no negative energy. It was fine... Melanie

I have never lived in a place that I felt was "haunted", but I certainly have been visited by folks. Nothing as chilling as the events described here, but at different times in my life I have experiences very clear energy of specific people (no longer alive) near me, and certain unexplainable events occuring. It is usually a comforting thing for me.

I don't have any relatives that i really knew pass away yet but if a relative WAS trying to get in contact with me, how would they do it? i mean, would it be by causing objects to move, or can they make you sort of have a feeling that they are there? I just was curious.

re: ghosts

When I first moved into my 1940s 1-1/2 story, my dogs and cats would react really strange to the whole upstairs area. They would run up there, poop and come running back downstairs. I wasn't using that area when I first moved in so I really hadn't spent much time up there but I was planning on turning it into my much larger bedroom.

I decided to have the upstairs recarpeted and figured I better figure out what's up with the critters and I called an animal communicator. Turns out some sort of energy was up there and was disturbing to the animals. So I was instructed to conduct a "Saging Ceremony" to purify the energies and send the spirits to the "other side."

I went to my local herbalist and got a bunch of white sage, which is used by the native american people's for purifying ceremonies. I was instructed to burn the sage, which is more of a smolder and walk around to all corners of the upstairs and kindly instruct the spirits to cross over to the other side. i wasn't supposed to upset them in any way but to be very polite and tell them that they are scaring the creatures in the house and if they could, kindly leave. And if they had to stay for whatever reason, that they had my permission as long as they stayed friendly.

Well, since then, I got married and my husband and I call the upstairs our room. We've still seen mysterious shadows along with strange bumps in the night but never a negative atmosphere like thing from before. So the ghosts and our family cohabit quite peacefully now.

Not sure if the sage will help all spirits but it seemed to work for the negative energy in our house.

Rhianna: I burned sage to purify the atmosphere of my home after a sick person came to visit, but I didn't go to the corners of the rooms, and I never asked my disembodied visitor to cross over if she could. In fact, about a week ago, I was sitting in the living room and an ornament on the Christmas tree went zinging off it's branch and dangled there. Weird, huh? That's pretty typical of our "visitor". We do have a dog, and the dog has never seemed creeped out. Of course, being a Yellow Lab, if there's no food involved, she ignores it!

When I was 11, my grandfather came to live with us, following my grandma's death. Almost immediately he was diagnosed with cancer, and he lived the last 9 months of his life in a hospital bed in our living room. When he was alive, it was his habit to wander through the house with his hands in his pockets, jingling his keys and money. After his death, we would still hear the jingling in our front hallway from time to time.

I like to think of him as a spirit, not a ghost. However, we did try to tell him to go ahead and go--he was so out of it when he died, I'm not sure he knew he had actually passed.

I've been so tempted to go back to that house and ask the current owners if they ever hear the keys jingling...but I don't want to freak them out. He was a wonderful, wonderful man. If he is still there, they are lucky to have him.
