Sewing a Fleece Pouch

I'm going to go to the fabric store this weekend and on my extensive list is some fleece to make a winter pouch. I've made several stretch twill and cotton slings but never a fleece one.

Do any of you have any recommendations on types/brands of fleece, tips for construction (do you hem the edges or apply trim), do you measure the same as you would for cotton or do you make it a bit smaller...if so, how much.

Any and all input is very much appreciated!

Malden Mills fleece all the way. I serge mine; nice and easy. You will want it a bit smaller than a cotton sling - maybe 3" in total length? Can't remember, it's been a while!

Do you think that fleece should be done on a serger or would a normal zig-zag stitch be sufficient?
