Oh, my god.
HOW did so many of you LOSE weight?! That's terrible! I'm so sorry so many of you have hypermesis. That has to totally suck. I was all sick, but not like THAT, and the only thing that calmed my stomach down was to eat little bits.
Also, since (mostly) only skinny people list their weight on here, (sort of like only skinny people without stretchmarks tend to post belly pics) to make everyone feel better, I started at 241, gained like six pounds *instantaneously* (it must have been fluid), and now at 19 weeks I'm 254. So I guess that's around 10 pounds depending on where you count the starting point. From what I hear, that's exactly where I should be being so overweight. (And, believe it or not, I go to the gym all the time, still do, and eat healthy. Who knows. I'm fit but huge, a size 20 before this giant bump appeared on my stomach.) One of the extra healthy things we (I make my husband take what I take) is to take fish oil pills. It's so hard to get enough omega-3/DHA/etc in our diets, and the fish here in the midwest BLOWS. I take those and flinstones with iron. And metformin. And synthroid.
I'm scared reading about the vegitarian who can't eat milk OR EGGS with her breastfeeding child WHILE she is pregnant! Holy protein deficiency!!! If it's lactose, you can get the low-carb yogurt that has the lactose filtered out- just an idea. Hopefully you have a good doc who tells you to take the calcium citrate pills (not tums- they aren't absorbed and basically do nothing). That's harsh. Perhaps you'll get a wean break, you sound like you need one. Don't hesitate if you need it!!! You are important too!
It's so funny that someone else on here mentioned the aversion to meat. MEE TO. I can't cook it, can't look at it.. but bring me to steak 'n shake and I can't contain myself. I ate chicken for the first time in a while, but only because my husband made it. I used to be a vegitarian, but am not any more.. who knows. Some days I know it's hard to get protein since we do try to cook most of our own food. I end up relying on yogurt a lot. (A couple of times, though, after the gym.. I've gone to steak and shake and got a burger (they are these weird, very thin, not greasy burgers) with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onions, and mustard. AND IT WAS TOTAL FREAKING HEAVEN.) This is a too long answer to this thread. I am SO chatty tonight, what with the pg induced insomnia!-j
