ORMOND BEACH -- Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial is planning a birthday party -- for the 10th year of its BirthCare Center where 8,103 children have begun their lives.

The event on Sunday -- including an "Ask the Doctor" booth and tours of the center -- is free and open to the public. It will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the hospital, located on Sterthaus Avenue.

Partygoers who are thinking, "Baby, maybe," are invited to talk to a parenting counselor. Vendors will display such items as baby furniture, infant formula, bike helmets and photographic services.

(hmmm, BirthCare Center celebrates with infant formula vendors. Nice. : )

Obviously not baby-friendly, I'd keep shopping around if I lived down there, and I'd tell them why.

Give me a break : Of course the formula companies are probably paying for the party.

Yikes...that scared me! The birthing center I'm using is also called Birth Care...but they won't take you on as a client unless you're going to breastfeed.
