It is empowering! MY electricity co. does have calculators to compare, but they aren't exactly unbiased, you know?
By the way Amanda, DH loves your house. He is officially jealous.

It is a really great house, but a whole lot of work. I find myself jealous of people living in normal houses that you don't have to put on a 30-year plan. And we've been without propane for two weeks now so I've generally been jealous of anyone with access to a hot shower.

Gas....no question.

The second you turn the heat off, it's off. With electric, it takes a while for it to cool down.

Gas is just so much easier I think. I've owned both and find gas so much easier to cook on.
